Sphere: This 12 inch diameter sphere has been turned to less than one-eighth of an inch thick, then carved and painted to proper scale. The oceans have been pierced with fine filigree work. To display the globe, a delicate Cocobolo stand was turned for mounting at the proper axis of 23 1/2 degrees. Wtih the ball bearing mount, the globe can be rotated to any desired position. To top it off, a White Opal has been set at the North Pole, representing the Polar Ice Cap.
