Box Elder Burl Natural Edge Bowl

A Box Elder Burl was turned to 3/32" thickness with a two inch border of pierced delicate filigree work.  Using the lost wax process I made an insert of just over 1 Troy ounce of pure gold to finish it off.  Having no experience in goldsmithing this did prove to be a bit of a challenge, starting with a "how to" course, assembling the required tools and equipment etc and finally ending with the perfect compliment to my turning.  (I suspect this may be the only one of these I ever do!)
